Gas block pinning service is offered on all low profile gas blocks that we sell. Gas block pinning, while not required on a properly installed gas block, adds an extra layer of assurance that the block wont move after installation. Normally pinning a gas block is only needed where the gas block is exposed to external impact, but it can be done on almost any low profile gas block if requested.
We offer a heavy duty stainless steel coil pin by default. We can also use a taper pin if you prefer however we find its easier for people to damage their barrels with these so we don’t typically recommend them.
Before pinning a gas block, we will need you to send in the following unless you would like us to leave everything loose when sending it back.

- Gas Block
- Barrel nut
If your barrel nut is proprietary for your rail, we will need it since the gas block will need to be done after it is in place. If we are installing a set screw type gas block, we will also dimple the barrel as part of this service.
We are now able to pin various gas blocks above the barrel (between the barrel and gas tube bores) using a smaller pin. This is the preferred method on certain blocks including offerings from Centurion and Badger Ordnance.
If we run into any issues with fitment like the block being too loose on the barrel, we will contact you beforehand to offer up a solution so we don’t pin on a block that will leak and cause cycling issues. As with every barrel modification service we offer, your barrel will be inspected for issues before any permanent modifications are made. An inspection sheet will be returned to you with your barrel with a record of everything that has been checked.

This service is top notch. Alex can take any gas block you have and pin it perfectly. I had him pin a couple of Daniel Defense Crane MK12 gas blocks (which are larger than your average block and have unusual dimensions) which came out perfect. I even specified I wanted none of the pin sticking out the sides of the block, like some companies do (which I just think is ugly and would be a no-go under a tight DD RIS II). He did exactly what I asked and it looked great with a sturdy 1/8” heavy duty stainless steel coil pin. Plus he will inspect everything with gauges to make sure your barrel is good to go before pinning. I know of no other gunsmith online who will do this. Not only that but each screw is properly torqued and set with thread locker. You know your gas block ain’t moving after this. Couldn’t ask for better! Definitely recommend Trajectory Arms for sure! I cannot say enough good things about trajectory arms. They value their customers and their services are top notch. I initially shipped them an AR-10 barrel and, on their initial inspection, found that the headspace was out of limits. They informed me of the problem and asked what I wanted to do. I shipped them different barrel and after inspecting this barrel, found that the gas block was too loose. They offered to cerakote the inside of the block and then ship it back to me while also offering to send me other defective barrel back to the manufacturer. Upon receiving the pinned block I inspected it and the fit and finish was flawless. They even included some extra roll pins in case I lost one while tinkering on it. All in all I cannot recommend them enough!
