2x gas block set screws with knurled tip. The knurled tip screws bite into the surface of the barrel and in combination with Loctite 271 will not back out even under heavy use. We recommend de-greasing the threads of the screws and gas block as well as dimpling your barrel with a quality dimpling jig before installation.
Do no reuse knurled tip screws as the tips will blunt and not hold as designed. These are a perfect replacement for gas block set screws with smooth cup or pointed tips if your gas block comes with the wrong type.
We recommend picking up a couple sets to have on hand if you ever need them.
Will work in any gas block that takes #10-32 (.190″) X 3/16″ set screws. Some blocks use larger screws so double check before ordering.
Hex drive size: 3/32″
If you do a lot of work on ARs for yourself or friends, consider picking up an Armorer Chem Kit which includes all of the needed grease and threadlockers to build your gun right!
If you follow the procedure below, your gas block wont budge! The same process is used by several high end manufacturers as well as our own armorers in the service shop.
Recommended gas block set screw installation procedure:
-Dimple the barrel with a quality barrel dimpling jig.
-Clean threads of set screws and gas block.
-Install enough threadlocker onto the threads of the screws. (Do not just drip it into the hole!)
-Install each set screw and torque to 25 in/lbs. If using a simple allen tool, torque until you see the handle bend.
-Wipe away any residual Loctite
